The Zodiac

The Zodiac ("Circle of Animals") is the name given to the band encircling the earth on either side of the ecliptic. It is like a belt in space, about 15-18 degrees wide, across which the planets move and form their aspects, or geometrical relationships. The Zodiac forms the symbolic backdrop for the path of the Sun, called the plane of the ecliptic.

Astrologers divide the circle of the ecliptic into twelve equal parts, each subdivided into 30 degrees, making 360 degrees in all. The twelve divisions are called the Signs of the Zodiac. These signs are related (but not exactly identical) to the constellations (star groups) of the same name. The beginning of the Zodiac is deemed to be the first degree of Aries, marked in the Tropical Zodiac by the vernal equinox, at the start of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Planets
In astrology, the planets, Sun, Moon and other movable points (such as the Moon's nodes) are still all described as "planets", the wanderers of the zodiac.

From our geocentric (Earth-centred) point of view, the planets, including the Sun and Moon, all travel through the Zodiac in the course of their orbits. The Sun takes a year, the Moon takes a month, and the other planets vary according to their place in the cosmic scheme. Because they seem to be orbiting the Earth, the stars and planets rise in the east, move around the earth from east to west, then set in the west (due to the earth's rotation from west to east).

Astrologically, each sign symbolises certain specific characteristics in nature and, as the planets move through the signs, they stimulate (or perhaps simply reflect) reactions in both the individual and the collective here on Planet Earth. The Sun passes through one sign a month on its annual passage around the Zodiac.

Other planets (not counting the Moon), because they actually orbit the Sun, seem to travel rather erratically through the Zodiac. This is really an illusion, generated by our changing earthly perspective with respect to the planets' placement in their orbits, but it does have some interesting effects. From time to time, all planets except the Sun and Moon seem to slow to a halt ("station") and then begin to move backwards through the Zodiac. If the limbs represented by a zodiacal sign has the combination of opposite bhutas (element) then it will be subjected to growth of various diseases and if the planet is situated in a sign whose element is the same as that of the planet then the limb represented by a house and a sign will be strenthened.

EARTH: Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo -- (Sensation)

Earth signs are patient, reliable, realistic and down-to-earth, naturally. They are solid, loyal individuals. In a relationship, Earth signs are stabilizing forces, natural mediators who stress structure and organization in order to achieve balance and harmony. Earth signs foster growth and are born nurturers who love to see the results of their tender loving care, be it with people, animals or plants. They realize the importance of unconditional love and support. They love life, take pleasure in simply being alive, and like to be surrounded by beauty. AIR: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius -- (Thinking)

Air signs are intellectuals who tend to think on a different level than the other elements. Their thoughts flow freely and their ideas contribute greatly to any philosophical conversation. Air signs are fanciful thinkers whose thoughts soar as fast as airplanes. However, because they are so preoccupied with indulging and analyzing their own thoughts, it is easy for their overactive minds to block them from achieving true inner peace and harmony. This is why meditation is so important for this element--deep, controlled breathing is needed to achieve higher levels of relaxation. Geminis are flighty, Libras are balanced, and Aquarius are humanitarians.

Fire signs are the passionate, confident signs on the zodiac spectrum. Their energetic personalities and enthusiasm for life lights up any room and acts like a beacon for those in the dark. Because of their bright demeanor, people tend to flock to Fire signs. When used in moderation, Fire signs are passionate lovers who are extremely outgoing and a lot of fun to be around. Life with a Fire sign will never be boring. However, an over-expression of fire can easily turn into aggression as these signs are quick to temper. And when Fire begins to rage, he will quickly consume everything in his path. Typically, Aries is the flirt, Leo is the King or Queen, and Sagittarius has an unquenchable wanderlust.


WATER: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces -- (Feeling)

Water signs are extremely flexible and adaptable. Water flows freely and can manipulate itself to fit into any surrounding, over rocks and around bends. It pours forth to others, allowing others to feel her pain and suffering, or vice versa, to offer the sincerest empathy and compassion. Water is uncontrolled, however, and can be very difficult to reign in and discipline. If uncontrolled, water signs will stay on turbulent paths which will cause her to be moody and unpredictable, ebbing and cresting like rough waves. While Cancers and Scorpios have a hard exterior to protect them from their own vulnerable sensitivities, Pisces does not. The elements combine astrologically the same way they do in nature. When two people of the same element get together, it is not usually a good combination. Because they are so unbalanced, one person usually steps forward to dominate the other or swallow her whole. Here are the ways different signs match up.



COMPATIBILITY
AIR-FIRE: Fire needs air to survive, but too much of it will make the flames rage out of control. Air doesn't really need Fire, though Fire is able to heat air and cause it to rise. Air also provides concepts and ideas for the Fire sign to act on and forge into reality.

EARTH-WATER: Water nourishes the Earth sign so it may grow to it's fullest potential, and feels comfortable finding a home in Earth. Earth loves Water's life force and giving energy.


FIRE-WATER: These two signs much be careful when interacting--water can put out fire, but if the fire is large enough it can dry up water completely. Water can provide sensitivity and patience to his fiery counterpart, whereas Fire can provide motivation and the courage to act that the Water sign usually lacks. In order for a relationship to work, Fire and Water need to have a great deal of respect because each has the capability to destroy the other.


FIRE-EARTH: Fire sets the Earth ablaze with passion and intensity, whereas Earth provides the Fire sign with some much needed discipline and acts as a grounding force in the Fire sign's life. Earth can certainly contain fire but when Fire rages it can temporarily rob Earth of it's life-giving nutrients.


EARTH-AIR: Depending on it's mood (and therefore it's temperature) Air can either provide Earth with loving warmth or give her an icy chill and cold shoulder. It can sometimes be a struggle for Earth to get Air to come down to her level and see the world for what it is--a beautiful reality, rather than a concept to be analyzed.


AIR-WATER: Not a favorable combination because air and water can combine to form destructive natural disasters like tornados, hurricanes and tsunamis. These two signs can work together if they are able to not let small conflicts snowball until they get out of control.



I've seen all combinations and I think the 2 best ones are FIRE-AIR and EARTH-WATER. Same-element combos can be fun (so comfortable) but you are so right: it is harder to move forward and grow.

Knowing the element of the people around you is so helpful. For me it is now easier to understand why certain people react in certain way to things... and most recently I've been able to guess what element or star sign a person is.

On the AIR sign point of view (I'm gemini) I can say that the most uncomfortable moments I've gone through in my life have been when interacting with WATER signs. That doesn't mean I can't get along with them

It is acoomon belief that one cannot enjoy the sweet of mango, if one sows the plant of Acaica. ( Boye Ped Babool Ko / Aam Kahan Te hoy?) But the Indian astrology thinks otherwise. According to the various ancient astrological volumes, if a person is born in Vishakha Nakshatra , he or she should plant a tree of Ram Acaica in his house to fetch peace and prosperity.





Yes, plants also enhance chances of peace, pleasure and prosperity. Science says that they are the best friend of man kind as far as the envirnmental issues are concerned, but Indian astrology goes as far as to say that they are good patron of the society as they possess the quality to provide the pleasure to individual, what one deserves. Ancient Indian volumes related to Vastu and astrology discusses it in detail that which kind of plant can provide what kind of pleasure to an individual.





Indian astrology believes that every thing under the sun represents a certain planet. A person is required to know which planet is beneficial for him/her and then the need is to enhance the influence of that specific planet around him/her. As different plants also represent different planets and Nakshatras one can boost up one’s chance of betterment by planting of the suitable plant in house orchard.





‘Brahmma Vaivarta Purana’ an ancient volume says that planting a tree of coconut fetches an easy flow of money. Planting of a Mango tree in the Eastern direction of the house may bring prosperity. Persons, who are having problems in having a child, are suggested to sow a plant of lemon or jack- fruit in the Eastern part of the house. If one faces difficulties in finding real friends, one should plant a rose- apple (jaamun) tree in southern direction. Another ancient volume ‘Padma Purana’ says that one should plant a tree of Myrobalan (Aanwala) in house hold orchard to have a free and fair flow of positive and sacred energy. According to a common belief both of the Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxami have provided their special blessings to this plant.





Manushyalaya Chandrika, Samaraangan Sutradhaar and many other Vastu volumes detail in discuss the utility of plantation in various aspects of the life. Astrological beliefs says that one should plant the tree which represents the birth nakshatra (specific composition of stars) of one self to get the favour of stars.A person is said to born in a particular nakshatra when the specific nakshatra exercises its influence over the sky.Indian astrological system believes that there are twenty seven types of the nakshatras which exercise their infuence at a regular frequency. Every nakshatra is represented by different plant or tree . A person born in a particular nakshatra is suggested to plant the tree of his/her birth nakshatra to enhance good fortune. For instance , Bharani nakshatra is represented by myrobalan, Ashwani by pomegranate, Punarvasu by bamboo tree, Rohini by rose – apple, while Pushya nakshatra is represented by the holy peaper tree.





A friend in need is a friend indeed. In this context plants are really true friends of mankind as they not only fetches good luck to the individuals but also donate whole of their existence to the benefit of human beings.

If one does not have a favorable position of Mercury in one’s ascendant chart, one should not go for it, because evil effect of Mercury on eleventh house of the horoscope, i.e. house of coffer, may lead the individual to bankruptcy. Mars also plays important role in the success of a person in the ‘game’ of shares. It is Mars, which governs the business of broker ship. As the business of shares rotates very around the brokers, a person strongly needs favor of Mars to get maximum benefit of it. Suppose Mars is situated in sixth house of an individual’s natal chart. Now initially it will show some kind of bright prospects but ultimately it will compel the person to bite the dust.



Finally, position and effect of Venus in one’s life should also be calculated minutely. It is the goddess of beauty, which fetches prosperity through different means in a person’s life. The person who has a favorable Venus in his/ her natal chart, can fight against all odds. You might have seen some persons who were struggling for survival, before their marriage, but rose up to new heights of success after their marriage. It is all due to the favor taken by the Venus. Wife of individual represents Venus in life. Indian astrology system believes that Venus starts showing its colors in a person’s life after marriage. Taurus and Libra are the zodiac signs of Venus. When Venus leaves its zodiac signs, especially that of Taurus’s, it causes depression in share market. However whenever Mercury, the lord of businesses, gets crooked it gives new hike to hopes of shareholders. Union of Saturn and Sun, Saturn and Moon, Saturn with Mars and Saturn and Rahu also give new rise to share index. Astrologically we can say that when Saturn the lord of justice makes union with those planets, which are considered unfriendly to it, the market is supposed to show good colors. When Saturn enters in the zodiac sign of Sagitarious, which is governed by Jupiter, it also causes new shine to market.



Jupiter, known as the guru of divine powers, creates its impact on the market by another mean too. Generally it has been noticed that during the days of uncertainty and instability, on each Thursday the index returns almost to that level, at which it was on previous Thursday.

Of course, different position of different stars and different combinations among them leave different impacts on shares of different kinds.
